How to Prepare

Stay well-hydrated — drink plenty of water before your appointment. A urine sample is required for most drug tests.Bring a list of all prescription medications you currently take. Some prescription drugs may trigger a positive result, and the Medical Review Officer (MRO) will need to verify your prescriptions.

Common Disqualifiers

Be aware of these factors that may affect your results or clearance.

Positive result for marijuana (THC), cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, or PCP
Refusal to test or tampering with the specimen
CBD products may cause a positive THC result — DOT does not accept CBD use as an excuse
