Health History Review
Complete review of past surgeries, medications, and medical conditions.
Vision and Hearing Tests
Verify you meet federal requirements for visual acuity (20/40) and hearing.
Blood Pressure and Pulse Check
Monitor cardiovascular health indicators. BP must be below 140/90 for 2-year certification.
Urinalysis
Checks for underlying health issues like diabetes, not a drug test.
Physical Exam
Covers heart, lungs, spine, limbs, and neurological function.
Certification
If passed, driver receives a Medical Examiner's Certificate (valid up to 2 years).
Common Disqualifiers
Be aware of these factors that may affect your results or clearance.
- Uncontrolled blood pressure (above 140/90)
- Vision worse than 20/40 in each eye (with or without correction)
- Insulin-dependent diabetes without proper documentation
