As a SHRM certified practitioner, I came to the event for all of the learning opportunities to check out all of the vendors and also just to hang out with all of the awesome HR professionals. When we found that BlueHive could accommodate us, we were so excited. So we use it to find occupational health clinics close to new hires. So for example, if someone lives in Portland, Oregon, we send an email to the BlueHive team and let them know that we need someone there and they connect the new hire with a clinic.
It was really the multi-state need for drug screening. I could call up a clinic here in Fort Wayne, Indiana where we're located. That's super easy. We're familiar typically with clinicians and clinics in our area, but once you cross even the county line it gets a little scary. So BlueHive allowed us to find clinics and match them with our new hires.
It changed our workflow immediately because we didn't have an option but for it to change. So they worked with us to ensure that we were compliant right away from day one. So for us, when we hire or extend an offer to a new hire, we let BlueHive know that we're going to hire someone in X zip code and X state and they begin the research of finding clinics for us. Once we actually get a signed offer from an employee, we use the system to input the employees data so we can get a more pinpointed location of an occupational health clinic. They let us know when the clinics open if they need to bring their ID.
If there's waiting or they need to make an appointment, I don't have to spend my time as an HR professional doing that. I can still deal with all of the great things that I deal with here and do not have to worry about contacting occupational health clinics across the country. Other than the concierge services we receive, there is a database with over 17,000 providers where any HR professional can go out and find different services from DOT testing to vaccines to any other health surveillance items. I think it's great for HR professionals who are currently tracking a lot of this on spreadsheets. It's time to get it into a system that's HIPAA compliant and that you can pull reports from very easily.
I know there's a lot of people out there that have to track TB tests, vaccines, and they are using spreadsheets and where are they sending individuals, right? Especially if you're working across state lines. So BlueHive would be my recommendation for helping to manage all of that feature of the information storage, the where to find clinics. You can be anyone, you know, anyone surfing the web to find occupational health providers.
