Before You Arrive
Breath Alcohol Test
10–15 minutesNo alcohol for 8 hours before. Avoid mouthwash with alcohol.

15–30 minutesStay hydrated. Bring a list of current prescriptions in case of MRO review.

30–60 minutesFast for 8–12 hours if blood work is included. Bring CDL, glasses/contacts, and CPAP data if applicable.

DOT published final rule allowing hair testing as an alternative to urine testing for pre-employment drug screening of CDL holders. Employers may opt in to hair testing programs with proper MRO review procedures.
